Safety & Security words are often used as similar, but in fact they are two different concepts. Safety is the protection of people and assets from negligent or unintentional dangers such as natural disasters, fire, earthquakes, labor, ergonomics, psychological accidents. Security is refered to human and asset protection, from dangers of intent such as robbery, burglary, arson, terrorism, vandalism. Enterprices and organizations should look at these two concepts in a holistic approach, since they should be interlinked, both at the same time, with a view to minimizing risks and building a preventative culture. Knowing the risks is a prerequisite to avoiding them. Prevention should therefore inspire the actions of all those involved in the operation and safety of an enterprise or organization, since that's the only way to:
• Understand that risks, predict them and create effective active shield against them
• Stop accidents from accidental occurrences
• Avoid disasters and loss of life/property caused by inadequate security measures
